Diana Camp

Wine Director & Sommelier

“I wanted to be the person on the floor who can simply open a wine list and take a guest on a quick trip to another part of the world. I truly believe wine has that power.”

Diana grew up in Europe. Her family had a strong background in law and it was expected she would follow the same career path. She never thought the hospitality industry was in “the cards.” Her first encounter with the restaurant industry happened when she was an exchange student heading to the United States in 2010. She immediately fell in love with hospitality and everything it embodies, such as empathy, kindness, passion, and dedication. Her experience abroad motivated her to change direction towards a new career path. She took a position as Maître D at The Inn at Erlowest, a fine dining restaurant in Upstate New York.  There she had the opportunity to work with an Advanced Sommelier whose passion for the world of wine was incredibly contagious. Although she had great experiences, the wine program was relatively small. In order to continue her growth in the world of wine she was going to need a bigger stage.

In January of 2018 she joined Blu Pointe as a candidate in the manager-in-training (M.I.T.) program.  She believed the wine program at Blu Pointe would provide her the resources and opportunities needed to further her career. Surrounded by true hospitality professionals and becoming a part of the most prestigious wine program in the Hudson Valley fostered the ideal learning environment. Her aspirations remain to continue her studies and certifications through each level of The Court of Masters Sommeliers. Diana loves sharing her knowledge and passion for wine with our guests and team members. When visiting the restaurant you can sit back and allow her to take you on a journey around the world one bottle at a time.
