There is no bad seat at Blu Pointe, one of the anchor restaurants on Newburgh’s popular promenade. The waterfront restaurant features an open-air terrace with panoramic views of the Hudson River, indoor seating (every table has a river view), and an outdoor bar that can accommodate up to 60 guests.

The menu at this latest fine-dining venue from The Bonura Hospitality Group features a robust number of fresh seafood choices, including a market-style raw bar. Indulge in a seafood feast with their signature three-tier chilled-shellfish tower, which comes with Alaskan king crab, two Maine lobsters, eight colossal shrimp, a dozen clams, a dozen oysters, and two-dozen marinated mussels, complimented by a Bloody Mary sauce, Riesling mignonette, and lemon-thyme aioli. There’s also a nice selection of “turf” options for non-seafood-loving guests. The 32-ounce Chicago rib-eye in a Cabernet-shallot reduction is one of the most popular items on the menu.

Pair your meal with a glass of wine from the impressive temperature-controlled walk-in wine room, which holds more than 3,000 local and imported wines carefully curated by sommelier Caleb Penn. The bar also serves up a selection of local craft beers and signature cocktails, such as the Smoked Peach Old Fashioned, made with vanilla-bean-infused bourbon, grilled-peach syrup, and peach bitters in a barrel smoked glass.

Blu Pointe recently launched a series of Passport Wine Dinners, at which the restaurant’s executive chef and sommelier guide guests through wine-and-dinner pairings representing different regions of the world—both near and far. Upcoming flavor journeys include New Zealand and Argentina (August 9), the United States (September 20), and the Hudson Valley (October 11). Seating is limited and the dinners sell out early. Tickets may be purchased on the Blu Pointe website.

For boaters, Blu Pointe offers complimentary docking when you dine. Its dock has 16 slips serving boats up to 100 feet. Reservations recommended; outdoor seating is first come, first served. Follow Blu Pointe’s social-media channels for announcements regarding events and specials.
